Telecommunication Engineer

Telecom Engineer:

Location: Little Rock, AR

o          Knowledge, skills and accountability:

         Ability to communicate effectively with Customers, Operations Center, Co-workers, and other groups related to the design, scheduling and construction of jobs.

         Perform all duties, and work with others in a safe manner in compliance with appropriate company safety policies and rules.

         Competence in required company specific applications (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access or Microsoft Project)

         Strong communications and organization skills required.

         Substation equipment removal and installation is preferred with planning experience.

         Responsible for tracking, coordinating and assigning work to crews to support project activities. 

         Knowledge of substation equipment and transmission system is required.

         Develop mitigation plans to address anticipated project conflicts with external and/or internal customers.

         Engineer shall provide oversight and supervision to the crews and shall be onsite and available as needed.

o          Primary Responsibilities:

         Responsible for five telecom projects and direct activities according to priority associated with design, scope, material, and deadline.  

•           DC Telecom Racks – Contract currently in place with installation schedule.  Engineer will provide oversight and supervision.

•           High Voltage Protection (HVP) Projects – Various sites across Arkansas.

•           Fiber Pull Project – Installing conduit from an existing telecom building to the substation control house at eight sites in 2015 and twelve sites in 2016 across Arkansas.

•           MPLS Project– Coordinate phone circuit installations at nine sites across Arkansas.

•           New Tower Builds Project – Install twenty new tower installations in 2015 and ten in 2016.

         Review work tasks activities and verify, schedule and coordinate with internal and external customers.

         Responsible for tracking, coordinating and assigning work to crews to support telecom/capital project activities. 

         Recommend and develop work-arounds as required to address problems that arise over the course of monthly plan and incorporate the necessary activity and changes into the schedule to provide minimum impact to the schedule.

         Responsible for assessing Transmission equipment/line requests to identify and coordinate work requests risks for construction projects.

         Knowledge of substation equipment and transmission system is required.

         Develop mitigation plans to address anticipated construction conflicts with external and/or internal customers.

         Ensure all activities support the level of detail required by the Users Contract Manager to meet internal department objectives.

         Obtain work estimates, ensure contract requisition approved and invoicing is timely and with accurate accounting information

         Communicate with Supply chain and work with Contractors on various items, (invoices, contracts, proposals, permits, etc.)

         Knowledge of substation equipment and transmission system is required.

         Track and analyze and submit project information to Users Contract Manager
