Title: Safety Coordinator

Ensure vendor and company safety policies are being adhered to. Perform damage investigation and document findings. Perform and document safety inspections. Input safety data into computer/tablet based portal. Route daily audits in logical manner. Interact with client representatives. Use lap top computer/tablet to receive, document and email. Provide on-site remediation when necessary. Ability to recognize and stop unsafe actions.
Contractors selected will be coming in independently to make observations. This role will not have any direct supervision or oversight regarding the crews. Candidates selected will be required to review Electric and Gas capital project work in the field. Work can include substation and transmission lines, overhead or underground work, gas main replacements, etc. Average day – Contractor selected will receive around 3 job locations per day. Will drive their personal vehicle to each site and perform safety observation. Contractor will have access to client's computer to input the observations. Contractor will also follow up with the crews in regards to the observation to discuss results. Selected contractor will also attend vendor meetings and will discuss safety trends as appropriate. Will also participate with some accident investigations. Candidates should have general construction knowledge. Utility – Electric/Gas experience highly preferred.
Will spend 90% of time in field 10% of time in the office. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate. Basic PPE and a computer will be provided. Candidates should be available for an in person interview.
