Energy Efficiency Program Coordinator


Provide support in the development, delivery, and management of energy efficiency programs as part of an energy efficiency portfolio to ensure cost recovery and minimize performance risk. Coordinate with other client departments providing program logistic support. Verify that products, services, and energy savings are delivered as required.


Primary Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Assist Sr. Program Manager in the areas of budgeting, performance reporting and other internal and external reporting requirements, as identified
  • Provide ongoing support in the monitoring of implementation contractors. Assist in tracking performance metrics applicable to the program and in conformance with the overall portfolio. Attend implementation contractor and other vendor meetings as requested.
  • Review and prepare program status reports to accurately monitor progress toward program performance and financial goals.
  • Support Sr. Program Manager to ensure that Accounts Payable (invoice review, verification and check creation) and Accounts Receivable functions (audit billing) are managed according to applicable Corporate Policies and Procedures and comply with appropriate accounting and Sarbanes Oxley rules.
  • Manage customer relations’ issues or inquiries arising out of energy efficiency programs.  Fulfill day to day requirements to serve customers participating in energy efficiency programs.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of energy efficiency programs including evaluation of energy efficiency measures, design of program, and filing of requirements.
  • Take part in program communication, outreach, and marketing meetings to help ensure that all messaging is accurate and consistent with the larger energy efficiency portfolio.
  • Ad hoc requests and special projects as assigned


Position Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering and/or business) or equivalent related experience and 2 - 5 years’ experience in relevant energy conservation/energy efficiency work experience, primarily in project management and technology assessment, performance management, measurement and evaluation, and knowledge of marketing communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within established budgets and deliver promised results.
  • Ability to communicate with and coordinate with a wide variety of professionals ranging from engineers to vendors, to subcontractors.
  • Experience developing and delivering utility energy efficiency programs to specific sectors. Program and contract management experience are preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task across various types of projects and deliver a quality work product within the required timeframe.
  • Ability to provide analytical and relevant technical support of programs.
  • Ability to conceptualize and organize project planning processes.
  • Responsible and able to function under minimal supervision.
