Project Description:
The CIPv6 Project will implement solutions to comply with mandated North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection version 6 (CIPv6) standards and regulations designed to protect critical infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities that could result in decreased generation, transmission reliability and data loss. These requirements focus on implementing physical access control (PAC) and electronic access control (EAC) systems in cleint’s Transmission and Fossil environments.

CIPv6 is an expansion of NERC CIP standards to protect Low Impact BES Cyber Assets (BCA) (i.e. cyber assets whose failure or misuse could affect reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System within 15 minutes).

The most significant impacts:
• Must control physical access to sites with low impact BES Cyber Systems (BCS) based upon need (1,000 substations and 17 fossil plants)
• Must control electronic access to Low Impact BCS with External Routable Connectivity (ERC) or dial-up connectivity (463 substations and 17 fossil plants)

Project Location(s):
The primary project work location will be at Parkwood office located in the Woodlands, Texas. Therefore, our preference is that the consultant be located in Houston area, New Orleans area, or Jackson, MS area, in that order. HOWEVER, the right candidate can live and work remotely, except when necessary for meetings with stakeholders or project team.

Travel Requirements:
Travel to and from other CIPv6 offices or sites located in Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana may be required. It is estimated that approximately 25% of the work assignment will include travel to locations other than the Woodlands.
