Job title: SCCM Administrator
Duration: 12 months (W2 contract)
Location: Baltimore, MD, 21231
As a System Administrator for SCCM, the role is responsible for directly supporting new and existing customers in providing technical support in the MS SCCM 2016 environment. The purpose of this position is to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the MS SCCM toolset and understand customer requirements to work with the application team to deliver SCCM solutions to fulfill customer-requested deliverables. Able to clearly articular SCCM architecture requirements and discuss design improvements, where necessary.
Installs, tests, tunes, maintains, automates, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, monitoring tools, etc.
Maintains and improves monitoring agent deployments, configuration thresholds, licensing tracking and administration across all SCCM platforms for all customers.
Provides preventive maintenance by planning maintenance schedules and following established change management and release management processes.
Evaluates and maintains hardware/software management and monitoring tools which will meet both the immediate and future needs of the customer.
Maintains required compliance reports and scheduled delivery.
Participates in ensuring that customer requests via ticketing systems are managed to closure.
Supports information technology, systems and policies for Tools and Automation in support of business needs. Provides Level 2-3 support as needed.
Able to establish patch deployment policies, deploy jobs, monitor, and resolve issues as required in an efficient and streamlined process.
Develop and support image deployment “zero touch” capability.
Communicate effectively with multiple customers and co-workers. This includes the following activities:
Consulting with the Service Desk, Client Services and Desktop Teams, on support calls
Able to communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
Able to participate in various customer strategy meetings to define and understand customer delivery
Requirements and look to develop SCCM solutions to deliver accordingly
Providing Case status updates to management and end-users
Review various customer Statement of Work (SOW) requirements to identify opportunities to better leverage and/or customize SCCM capabilities to automate deliverables where
possible, and work with leadership teams to bring ideas to fruition.
Providing phone support and diagnostics to remote customers.
Participating in training programs designed to educate Service Desk, Client Services and Desktop teams and/or customers about basic and specialized SCCM functionality as a means to improve management of the desktop for the business.
Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to Desktop Managed Services support
Assess day-to-day activities to minimize customer down-time and ensure customer satisfaction
Analyzes problem trends and develops ideas to achieve problem resolution
Work with the application team to participate in weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to review SCCM requirements and partner on developing solutions.
Minimum 5 years System Administration and Automation experience on a specified operating system in a 24/7 production environment.
Working knowledge of Enterprise Management Tools.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience in utilizing the MS SCCM toolset in various customer environments
Working knowledge of Microsoft System Center tools - particularly SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM
Strong scripting knowledge.
Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory.
Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to create technical documentation.
Ability to work independently and take ownership
Ability to manage IT / Desktop initiatives and organize projects
Thorough knowledge of supported Microsoft Windows operating systems
Intermediate Experience with Active Directory administration
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with a wide range of customers with varying computer abilities
Experience troubleshooting intermediate complex local area network (LAN) and VPN connectivity issues
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
Knowledge of Image process (Win7, Win10) configuration, solution using standard tools (WinPE, disk management tools, OSD & Task Sequence within SCCM)
KnowledgeUnderstanding of SCCM platform: Software Updates (Patching - SCCM), Software distribution (Application Module – SSCM), Collection Advertisements (New Terminology-SCCM), OSD (Image, Task Sequence, MDT)
In depth knowledge of VMWare, App-V and Microsoft HyperV technologies
A+ Certification recommended, MCP/MCSSA preferred, ITIL Certification preferred
5-years or more of related experience preferred
