Job Title: Test Lead
Location: Hicksville, NY
Duration: 6 months (W2)
The Test Lead / Test Manager will report into the Test Capability Lead in Corporate IS. The role is expected to be full-time, on-site and based in Long Island/ Boston, but may include some travel to the UK.
Expected engagement end date: 6 months from 1st July 2017
Project background and scope:
Microsoft Office 365 has been chosen as the main solution for the replacement of the current Instant Messaging, Collaboration, and Email (ICE) services with a set of similar or enhanced services provided by Office 365Microsoft.
The full Office 365 project will replace client’s existing services with their equivalent components from Microsoft Office 365 (Email exchange, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Skype for Business and other identified services. During the discovery phase, which includes a Pilot roll out, an assessment of upgrading from office 2010 to Pro plus will also be carried out.
Testing, in the main will be completed by suppliers but the test strategy will be defined by the client Test Manager in collaboration with the suppliers and any gaps in the testing is expected to be covered by the candidate. The role of the Test Manager will include assessment of evidence against our strategy and plans, advise where required and act as an interface between different parties concerned with the website project to resolve test related impediments.
A UK-based Test Manager is in place and currently defining the strategy. Test Managers will be expected to work closely to ensure that testing is properly considered, planned and executed in both the UK and US.
It should be noted that client is going through a period of tool rationalisation at present and a suitable ALM tool is not in place currently although it is anticipated that Microsoft’s Visual Studio Team Services will be in place shortly. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that an appropriate tool is used by both internal and external resources to give traceability from requirements to tests to results to defects
